Frequently Asked Questions

The Festival

What/where/when is the MidPoint Music Festival?

MidPoint is a music festival that focuses on helping emerging artists gain quality exposure at multiple venues throughout downtown Cincinnati and the adjoining Over the Rhine neighborhood. The 13th annual MidPoint, marking more than a decade of high quality live music for a dedicated and passionate audience will take place Sept. 25-27.

Who attends MidPoint?

The festival atmosphere is always friendly and supportive as musicians, fans and professionals all enjoy the Midwest’s annual musical mecca.

Are there any daytime events other than shows?

Yes.  Details for 2014 special events will be announced closer to the event date.

Are there any events before MidPoint to hold me over until September?

Sure! For the sixth straight year we are presenting sponsor of the MidPoint Indie Summer Series on Fountain Square every Friday night between May 30 and August 29. You can see the kind of local regional, national and international acts we feature during MidPoint performing for free on downtown Cincinnati’s main public square. There will also be food, beer and other beverages, merchandise and other surprises for sale during the events.

Who’s the dude with the mustache I keep seeing everywhere?

That’s our cyclops riverboat captain, Monty. He calls Cincinnati his home port and serves as MidPoint’s mascot.

I’m from out of town and don’t know my way around Cincinnati. Anything to help me getting from Point A to Point B?

A festival guide and map are published each year in September prior to the festival. We also will have a web-based app for your mobile device - - to help you navigate the festival.

When do MPMF.14 tickets go on sale?

Tickets are on sale now. Go to for details and prices.

How/where can I buy tickets?

You can buy advance three-day and one-day passes online. They will also be available  in person during the event at the pop-up MidPoint box office located at the corner of 12th and Vine Streets in Over-the-Rhine. Most individual shows have cover charges at the door and are walk-up only during the festival.

How/when will I receive my tickets?

If you buy online, you can choose to print your ticket at home or receive it in the mail. When you attend the MidPoint Music Festival you will turn in your ticket for your wristband.

Do I have to buy a single ticket to every show I see?

All-access wristbands allow admission to all MidPoint shows at all venues, capacity rules permitting. We’ll also offer single day passes that get you in to all the shows on an individual night. And you can pay a cover charge at the door if you're only taking in a single show. We recommend that you purchase an all-access wristband, though, because it easily provides the best value for the overall festival experience.

What happens if I lose my MPMF ticket?

Sorry, we can’t refund or reissue lost vouchers. So put them in the safe ’til September.

What are the benefits to buying an all-access wristband?

Well, it’s economical: If you plan to attend more than one night at MidPoint, it’s cheaper to buy an all-access wristband than two single day passes. In these days and times, you need to save every dollar you can. Plus they look cool on your arm.

The benefits to buying a VIP  Pass are many: You get "priority admission" to all MPMF shows and venues, depending on venue capacity rules—meaning that if there's a line for a show but room is available inside, you get in next. Plus you get to attend the exclusive VIP happy hour parties each night and also have an upfront private viewing area at the Washington Park main stage.
